Drupal theme: Dichotomy

New Drupal community contribution, the Dichotomy theme:

This layout uses a central column with a main region, two right sidebar regions, and a footer region that allows for horizontal stacking of blocks.

Originally distributed with a colour palette of strong green and gray: http://drupal.org/project/dichotomy. The theme is now available in all four flavours shown above (green, pink, blue, and orange):
Drupal theme Dichotomy dichotomy.zip download dichotomy.zip for Drupal 5.x

n.b. The theme has been tested successfully on WinXP Firefox 2.x, Internet Explorer 6 & 7, but has known alignment issues on Linux Firefox 2.

Hi. Nice looking themes. I'm fairly new to Drupal, so, could anyone tell me what would be involved if I want to slightly modify the Dichotomy theme? In particular, I have a site with a space-themed design that I want to convert to Drupal (www.cosmosconnection.com). I was thinking of using the Dichotomy center panel whole, but converting the 2-tone grey background to solid black and dropping in some of the space graphics from the above site as a border design. How easy would that be to do with this theme (or for that matter, any Drupal theme that has a center panel "matted" on a solid background)? Any guidance or feedback would be GREATLY appreciated!

The easiest approach for you would be to replace dichotomy/images/background.png and background-page.png with matt black images of the same dimensions (as the existing images). You can modify it to do anything including having a border if you know XHTML/CSS.

I would ask you about the rotating panel on the left of this page,
is this a Drupal module?
and where could I find it?

thanks, nice job.

Nice theme. Will it work with Drupal 5.x and integrated Ubercart on the front page?

If yes, I am going to use it on a demo store for prospective customers.

Like the glossy look. Can I preview the site somewhere live in the different color schemes?

There no placewhite to put main text - the background must be white or close to white to read texts clearly.

This is all too colorful. I prefer something simpler. This is why I love classic drupal sites: for their simplicity. Why can't we keep it that way? Oh, and when will I be able to see more articles on offshore outsourcing?

When you change Drupal themes you can always go back to classic if you choose to. So its not a permanent change as your message seems to suggest.
